Zola Jesus : Conatus
There's a fine line between intriguing gothic music and over-the-top gothic music, but Zola Jesus has done a fantastic balancing act on Conatus.

Zambri - Glossolalia & Remixes Galore
NYC-based Zambri has signed with Kanine Records to release their debut EP Glossolalia 11/8 -- official anouncement here, teaser vid (short & long version), tracklisting & cover art, and nostalgic remixes from "back in the day" below.

Or try the long version...

If you've been paying attention, you know that Zambri has had at least one debut EP (the lovely Bang For Changes) prior to their Kanine Records debut. But getting something hammered out as a physical copy is a whole new ballgame. It's gonna be vinyl, right? As far as I can tell, here is the tentative cover art & tracklisting:

1. On Call
2. Heather
3. To Keep Back
4. News
5. On Call (biddibiddi)

Stream some remixes of Zambri's "underground" EP Bang For Changes by the indomitable Boston DJs Baltimoroder & DJ Die Young; scope some old Zambri MMM-MMMP3 posts for "Carry" and an Arcade Fire remix; visit their site; stalk 'em on Twitter; and get the scoop on their Kanine Records Presents gig at the last Northside Fest. Peace!

Zambri - "Carry"

cover QRO favorite Zambri has kept us all waiting with bated breath for new material since their stellar EP Bang For Changes wowed us (the Guardian , Fader , and Spin as well) last year and landed on at least one staffer's "Best Of..." list. This morning Jessica & Cristi Jo Zambri, NYC's favorite sister act, tipped us off to their new single "Carry", and we couldn't wait to pass it along. The track sports the dense, electronic Baroque-isms of Bear In Heaven (by the way, Jon from BIH lends guest vocal to this track); the icy, aethereal choruses of Oh No Ono ; and the clean pop structures of Hooray For Earth . That's good company, and Zambri figure to wow us again with new sounds at CMJ . We'll be there, so come by and buy us a drink: get your Zambri on!
