Beat-Herder Festival 2016 Preview

It’s that time of the year again. Very soon the Ribble Valley will be echoing to the sound of the best weekend in The North West, The Beat-Herder Festival. There’s no other festival quite like it and if you’ve never been before then you should be there, Friday to Sunday, July 15th to 17th. Why? Because it’s the maddest, wildest, happiest three days you’ll have this year.

Just what is it that sets Beat-Herder apart from the host of other festivals that compete for our cash and attention?

JamesPossibly it’s the variety and quality of the line up – this year ranging from the wonderful James (fresh from a sold out run around the arenas of Britain – QRO live review – to promote their excellent new album, Girl At the End of the WorldQRO review) to sixties poet hippy Donovan, who recently celebrated his 70th birthday with a gig at The Palladium (QRO live review), but also featuring an exceptional line up of music from all over the world including top German house duo Booka Shade, Swedish Indie masters Miike Snow, King of the Summer Jams Todd Terje and top reggae sounds from Jamaica’s Chronixx & Zincfence Redemption.

Or maybe it’s the fort, with it’s flame topped towers, or the stone circle, or the toil trees stage, set deep in the pine woods, or even the manor house where the spirit of madness reigns all day and long into the night. And that’s without mentioning the tunnels, and the church, and the people dancing on cars and ….

Look it’s like this. It’s the kind of weekend that’s almost impossible to do justice to in mere words. It’s great, that’s all really. And there are still tickets available. So if you want a great weekend, like nothing you’ve ever done before, well you should be there. And if you’ve been before then this is old news and you already know you should be there.

For more information go to www.beatherder.co.uk and we’ll see you there!
