FRIDAY, AUGUST 29th
Main Stage Shed Seven While the nineties Britpop scene is best known for acts like just-broke-up Oasis & just-got-back-together Blur, one of the best groups of then, Shed Seven (QRO photos at a festival), never quite got their due. Thankfully, they reunited recently, and have kept up the quality. |

Gaz Coombes In 2010, beloved English rock outfit Supergrass (QRO photos) called it quits after seventeen years & six album together (closing with Diamond Hoo Ha – QRO review), but singer/guitarist Gaz Coombes has kept on going solo, with 2012’s solo debut, Here Come the Bombs. |

MNEK While he first got notice on songs from Rudimental (QRO photos at a festival) and Gorgon City (see below), singer/songwriter MNEK comes to Bingley Music Live all on his own. |

The Selecter Along with friends The Specials (QRO photos at a festival), The Selecter (QRO photos at a British festival) helped found Britain’s two-tone ska sound in the eighties (though they broke up in 1981). Main Stage Pet Shop Boys The most successful duo in U.K. music history (as credited by The Guinness Book of World Records), Neil Tennant & Chris Lowe’s Pet Shop Boys (QRO photos) hit it huge in the eighties with songs like “West End Girls” and “What Have I Done To Deserve This?” (with Dusty Springfield), and have kept up that pairing & that success, most recently with last year’s Electric. |
