As the leaves change colors, baseball rips into the post-season, Halloween & elections draw near, it's that time of the year again: CMJ. Where a young band's fancy turns to 'making it' - or at least getting some gigs and some free booze. Where fans pack venues they've never heard of in The Bowery (and, increasingly, Brooklyn) to see line-ups that wildly swing to & fro. Where the press search for badges, unofficial free shows, RSVP-only events, and a moment's rest. QRO returns - and here's the schedule of what we'd see - if we had the time and multiple clones:
Click venue name for event listing in the QRO Concert Calendar. Venues with * denote within Bowery. Venues with ^ denote within Williamsburg. WARNING: MTA is working on the uptown F & V lines in the Bowery area this week. After midnight, there are no uptown F or V trains, and F trains going uptown from Brooklyn switch the A line at Jay Street in Brooklyn.
