Last month, central Texas was hit by massively destructive wildfires, with over 3.8 million acres and 2,800 homes destroyed in the fire season, with losses estimated to reach $250 million. Firefighters from more than 43 states have aided in fighting the blazes, with two deaths and many injured. The University of Texas, Frank Erwin Center, The Messina Group, and Austin Community Foundation have gotten together to raise money for the victims, by throwing Fire Relief: The Concert for Central Texas at Frank Erwin Center in Austin on Monday, October 17th.
