23:32 - Redheads

23:23 : RedheadsCreative souls are born and not bred.  And if you are one of them, you know you get carried away on projects, fueled by the sheer impulse to create.  One such spirit is Rami Vierula.  Better known as the frontman of dream pop quartet, Delay Trees, the Finnish singer/songwriter has been playing around in a dark corner at nights and churning out songs under the moniker of 23:23.  The latest result, “Redheads”, eulogizes the species that seem to spellbind some people.  The lo-fi strum starts in a gentle ache; before the song is halfway over, the dirty raw fuzz builds up as Vierula cyclically professes, “I really like redheads”.  May sound like a drunken racket on paper but sonically takes some of the best bits from the sixties psychedelic pop to the latest garage rock.  Look for 23:23’s second LP, Torero, in the coming months.

You can hear the first LP, Softest Wave Etc., over at Bandcamp,
