The track "Here Comes A Candle To Light You To Bed" fires up some sustained muckpop weirdness to kick off the first 3 minutes or so. Real flashback Mellow Gold "Sweet Sunshine" criminality with the heavy breathing Satan vocals and the phased-out guitar jetpools. After 3 minutes the track levels out into a more conventional rock number. Kinda wish they stayed in the weird zone, pushed it further, but the straight up rock vibe works for Boston’s Battle House as well. The rest of the full-length Some Sleep delivers some pretty, pleasing indie rock in a Q and not U-meets-Sebadoh smash your head on the punk rock pop scrawl style. Jamaica Plain, rep-ray-sahnt!
