What a sweet, sweet, sweet throwback 50s pop ballad. A number of bands do this well when they want to: Fresh and Onlys’ "I’m A Thief" and Girls’ "Ghost Mouth" come to mind – but there are a ton of homages, and they are particularly beautiful re-envisionings of the beginning of plugged-in, electric pop music. Add Cerulean Tapes to the list – "When I Saw You" is a gorgeous wobbly lo-fi version of the 50s throwback.

I found this track on the AAURAL mix (music from Ann Arbor, MI) put together by GRL MTN. QRO faves Kohwi and Mellows are on there as well. Download it for free at their site – dynamite!
