Golden Girls – ICICLE (Can’t Sleep)

Just saw the new Marky Mark movie last week, The Fighter, and the soundtrack (you know, the one with the Breeders and White Snake) reminded me how badass the Massachusetts music scene is. There’s something about the Bay State that effortlessly mixes avant indie with beers-n-chipz metal. I don’t know how the Golden Girls feel about the Greater Wahlberg (the Lesser being Donnie: hangin’ tough, dude!), but I think Lowell’s great whyte hope would really dig their new EP Girl World . The album is full of both brawn and the bizarro, as evidenced by the rollicking vid of the self-titled single below.

 

For the QRO stream though, I went with "ICICLES (Can’t Sleep)", because it’s so tripped out, and that’s the Golden Girls vibe. It’s a White Snake sort of band that took too much acid, broke on through to the other side, and, yadda-yadda-yadda, this band is just a good time. Don’t overthink it, just enjoy! Download their new EP Girl World , and keep it real with the Funky Bunch .
