There are catchier numbers on IVANA XL’s Love, Santa than "I LOVE YOU DIE I LOVE YOU", like the foot-tapping "Greene". Quirkier numbers too, like the toddler-core of "DOE A DEER" and "L’amico Fritz". But if you’re looking for a stripped-down folk ballad with the same kind of sad, quizzical beauty as El Toro on the album cover, then look no further than the track below. Not a polished track by any means — and I wouldn’t have it any other way — the strings buzz just right, and the voice, the voice, the voice carries you gently homeward on lonely little clouds lost in an impossibly blue sky.
