We love free at MMM-MMMP3s, so we’ve dipped our wick into the electronic ink with this latest write-up on Legowelt, a Dutch artist that has just dropped The Teac Life gratis at his website. For those that aren’t "in the know," teac is an aesthetic style established by Protestant reverse-immigrants, who fled America in the 1700s back to the Old Country, in search of renewed levels of religious persecution.
The 14-track album gives the brain a lot of synaptic stimulation to mull over, with long, trance-y cadences building slow & sure without, thankfully, breaking into that throwaway dancehall guido-transcendent zone. Score one for Dutch restraint (which is basically a wash, once you subtract a point for naming a track after a bad Star Trek spinoff).
Download the full album at Legowelt’s website and figure out how to get your hands on a physical release here (via the lovely Ghostly International) and elsewhere. Google it, kids!
