Hard to believe that the man behind Movin Up In Society is the same Sean Nicholas Savage that we blogged about recently for his disco flashback track "Oo La La" from Mutual Feelings… The disco album was straight synth beats and polyester love, the night to the day of the sunny-skies and swollen heart of "Giant In The Sky" from Movin Up In Society. If you didn’t listen closely you’d think you were listen to a B-side from Bob Dylan-meets-Cat Stevens lovechild. There’s flower power sentiments here, but they punch with a caustic wit that never surrenders to decorative banalities. Baroque poesy; Garfunkel breakdowns; parsley, sage, rosemary, and all the time in the world to shoot the breeze with an acoustic guitar and harmonica down the rowdy river of Love.

Tune into the track "Giant In The Sky" below. The cover for the limited edition tape is pictured at right. Classy! Hunt down the tape or download the entire name-your-own-price-album here (thanks Arbutus Records!), and get folk’d up!
