Snowden : Keep QuietQRO rejoiced when Jordan Jeffares, main man behind Atlanta-to-(where else?)-Brooklyn’s Snowden said that he was putting together a new record – but that was almost five years ago (QRO interview).  The death of the music industry has messed with many an artist after putting out a great debut, such as 2006’s Anti-Anti.  But last year Snowden announced that they were signing to Serpents & Snakes, the new label from Kings of Leon – their previous tourmates (S&S has also signed another great band to open for Kings of Leon, The Features – QRO live review of Snowden on a bill with both).   And now a release date has been announced for No One In Control – May 19th.

Of course, even though that’s not years away, it’s still months – but Snowden have announced a coast-to-coast tour starting next month:

2/19/13 – Boston, MA – TT The Bears
2/20/13 – Philadelphia, PA – Johnny Brendas
2/22/13 – Washington, D.C. – DC9
2/23/13 – New York, NY – Mercury Lounge
2/24/13 – Chicago, IL – Subterranean
2/25/13 – Minneapolis, MN – Triple Rock
2/26/13 – Denver, CO – Larimer Lounge
2/28/13 – Seattle, WA – Barboza
3/1/13  – Los Angeles, CA – Satellite Lounge
3/3/13 – Atlanta, GA – The Earl

And the band has released their second single from No One In Control (after last year’s “The Beat Comes” – QRO single review), “Keep Quiet” (with remixes from Niva and Savile), dark yet tinged with hope in just the way you want your Snowden.
