More Swedish action than you can shake a stick at here at QRO. Today we’ve got Turn Off Your Television, a sweet trio that kicks out melancholy pop powered by clean acoustic & electric guitar. I can hardly listen to this sort of music these days unless the band is Swedish. The band says they’re influenced by Sparklehorse, and a whole host of others, but all I ever hear is that honey-toned pop nihilism that is pure Swede. Pretty or die.
We’ve got "Keep It Safe" streaming below. A diamond-cut, low key ballad that gives me J. Mascis & Matthew Sweet vibes, real 90s throwback stuff that will keep the Yuck crowd happy. Also check out "Here Comes The Clouds" for build-y, build-y precious pop.
Hit up Turn Off Your Television at their website & Facebook & stream the whole album at Bandcamp. Is it free? Or are they asking for a li’l Swedish Kroner? I dunno dude, just follow the link and find out.
