If Beavis & Butthead are coming back, then the best of the rest of the 90s might as well come back too, including the golden age of first wave post-punk indie rock. Vacation captures the lo-to-medium-fi aesthetic of scrambled hearts and scrambled souls that can’t decide whether they’re angry or indifferent. The track "Wasted Disposer" from the EP Tiny Bones and Wires sparkles with Jad Fair flair: an acoustic strum anchors minimalist melodies as hollow log vocals genuflect against waves of background fuzz, buzz, & distortion.

Pat me on the back for providing links to this band, because Vacation is an absolute nightmare to google search for. Stream and purchase the entire EP at Bandcamp. Or, if you’re feeling poor, they put up this link for a free download on their blog. Not sure if it’s still active – try it out cheapskates!
