Before February turns into March, let’s take a moment to say “I <3 U” to Chicago’s White Mystery. The bro/sis duo lobbed a rock n roll grenade in the face of St. Valentinus on the loveliest of lovely holidays at the Empty Bottle on the 14th of February. From the handmade backdrop, to the carefully-crafted buzz pop minimalism, to the crotchrock gymnastics, White Mystery is a crash course in blitzkrieg blues-rawk. Check out the photos here! Notes of White Stripes, Ramones, and MC5 abound, mixing into a tumbler of brawling Roadhouse chutzpah. The lead songstress milks Grace Slick-powered vocals on top of a snarling bulldog guitar, while her partner in crime channels Keith Moon via Meg White. This act is not to be missed — catch the ginger pride of Chicago on tour, at SXSW and everywhere after.

Stalk ’em at their website, Myspace, Bandcamp, check out the untameable “White Widow”, cop the vid “Powerglove”, and be on the lookout for their new album Blood & Venom dropping on 4/20!
