Wormburner - Today Might Be Our DayNew Jersey has been finally getting some respect in music circles – it’s not just The Boss or Bon Jovi; there’s a working class indie-rock scene which is refreshingly devoid of the hipster-airs of Brooklyn.  Hoboken may have lost Maxwell’s (QRO venue review), but still hailing from the west side of the Hudson (though they’ve certainly also spent some time on the east side of the East River – QRO live review in Brooklyn) is Wormburner, who’ve just put out a video to go with their new single, “Today Might Be Our Day” on Negative Fun Records.  The young, blue-collar alt-anthem has been given a fifties twist that at first seems all Father Knows Best, but there’s a darker side…

Check out Wormburner on Manhattan Island at Roseland Ballroom (QRO venue review) on Thursday, 11/15/13, opening for the legendary Violent Femmes!
