With only one song under three minutes, this isn't your typical radio-friendly album.  Charismatic harmonies and rollicking rhythms get a little extra nudge and the band allows them to develop over a longer period of time and give them every second they deserve.  Move Every Muscle, Make Every Sound begins with "Shout", which has a bursting chant set over a gleefully bouncing rock vibe.  "Means to an End" takes that energy in another direction with a psychedelic twist on the six-minute-long, chugging ballad.  "Shakedown" is an irresistible, 70's themed chamber-pop gem that employs far more tricks than many of its radio-esque contemporaries.

De Novo Dahl's super-glued group dynamic shines on Move Every Muscle, Make Every Sound as the duets between Joel Dahl and Serai Zaffiro are simply perfect and the entire group seems to chime in on some of the more anthemic moments.  "Sky Is Falling" has a stirring group voice that's both dense and effortless while the vocal mix on "New Hero" is hard to beat.  There's never a moment of isolation or lack of inspiration on the album.

For thirteen tracks, De Novo Dahl keep a high level of energy and propel each catchy song far beyond just pop, psychedelic rock, or any single genre.  The past meets the future thanks to high-quality production and innate sense of enthusiasm that takes on many forms.  Move Every Muscle, Make Every Sound requires you to expend the same energy listening to the album that the band does presenting it.
