Lukas : Kun EPWith all the new electro-instrumental stuff coming out and ‘EDM’ becoming more popular than ever before (at least for this generation), remix icon and Lowtemp artist Luxas also has a new EP, Kun, and even though his music is very electro-keyboard oriented with other musicians such as Hedegard or on Gramatik collaborations, it is somewhat more composed here. The intro song, “Kun”, even being somewhat of a piano medley and it works. Sure, the next song, “Rooftops”, is as spacey as ever, but the theme seems to be one of relaxed dreaming.

There is a more familiar haunting and gloomy loop thing going on in “Bronx”, which kind of makes sense for the song title, it has a very urban feel.

Things really slow down with “Old Man of the Mountain”, but it is a nice synthesizer bit anyway, and thankfully mixes things up, to avoid the aforementioned dance-beat marathon which is so popular right now.

The final track on this short EP is “Kali”, which is similarly eerie and meditative, which is if not revolutionary, a fine and very wild feeling pensive. Kun is short and somewhat brooding in the meditation it goes for, but that still makes it meditative, which is always a good choice for electro-music.
