When is an album not an album?  When Unkle takes the leftovers from a previous release, gets inspiration from visual media, and combines them in a 20+ track non-"album".   End Titles... Stories for Film is exactly that, and perhaps as a point of dignity, the group credits previous sessions and outside influences for this particular release.  It carries on the vibe from War Stories as newly-revamped mixes arise while adding in more of a soundtrack feel as operatic movements become delicately intertwined.

Unkle reintroduces the symphonic world to the rock world in a highly-sophisticated blend of electronics and futuristic effects, taking cues from War Stories and going in a slightly different direction.  That same industrial rock is given a more uptempo cycle and plenty of orchestral arrangements find their way onto End Titles... Stories for Film.  With old member Richard File gone, and Pablo Clements in, Unkle has taken a more dramatic approach, evidenced by the tracks "Against the Grain" and "Trouble In Paradise (Variation On A Theme)".  Meanwhile, Gavin Clark's vocals also make a strong presence among the twenty-two tracks as well as past collaborators Josh Homme and members of Black Mountain.

From start to finish, End Titles... Stories for Film is a richly theatrical "album" with an underlying apocalyptic theme.  Its reuse of War Stories ideas and new, visually-sensitive elements give it a distinctively poignant feel and make it can't-miss.
