Black Moth Super Rainbow : Live

If anyone can move a room full of glowing orange faces, it would be Tobacco and the Black Moth Super Rainbow team!  On tour to support the release of Cobra Juicy, BMSR had the Union Transfer in Philadelphia moving like it was nobody’s business on Friday, December 7th.

The tracks were accompanied by a large stage screen to project video footage for each song, making the experience that much more memorable.  They opened up strong and the energy continued until the very end.  After wrapping up the last track, the audience began to yell for an encore, which BMSR was happy to oblige showcasing more tracks from Cobra Juicy.

BMSR’s deep drum and bass grooves lay down a solid foundation for Tobacco’s vocoder melodies and Seven Fields of Aphelion’s synth licks.  The combination of infectious electronica and the visual experience from both the stage and the glowing masks in the crowd, make seeing BMSR a must for anyone who enjoys pop-psychedelia.

And, it would not be fair to not mention the Casket Girls who opened up for BMSR.  The Casket Girls are made up of Elsa and Phaedra Greene (vocalists) and Ryan Graveface of Black Moth Super Rainbow.  The group has a lot of potential, really made a connection with the audience and definitely made some new fans in Philly with their own twist of psychedelic pop.
