New Zealand’s own Lorde came out to Houston, Texas on Wednesday night, March 5th, to play another sold out concert at The Bayou Music Center.  Lorde was draped in an aurora of beautiful lighting followed by a backing keyboardist and drummer.  The seventeen-year-old singer/songwriter had the crowd in a trance as she began to delight the crowd with favorites such as “Royals”, “Glory & Gore” and even covers of The Replacements and Son Lux.

The crowd’s energy was stellar throughout the night as the spotlight continued to shine on Lorde.  Hypnotic, mesmerizing and mysterious were just a couple of words to describe the night.  One couldn’t help but bob their head to the enthralling bass followed by the exhilarating energy Lorde gave off.  From one song to another, Lorde continued to shine as she quickly showed the crowd exactly why she is here.  The teenage kiwi definitely has a place in modern music, and the roaring Houston crowd can back her up.  From her hand gestures, to her flawless rhythm, to her stunning vocals… it was plain to see Lorde intended on being 100% on point, and she was.  What a truly amazing experience, which definitely exceeded all expectations.  Overall, the concert was truly alluring and breathtaking.
