Rob Crow : Live Print

As one of the hardest working men in indie rock, Rob Crow took his solo act out on the road in support of his new album, Living Well.  Backed by four guys, whom he said he hadn't played with in "13 years", Crow hit TT the Bear's in Cambridge, MA, in front of a small, but highly buzzed crowd.
The group played nearly twenty songs, and Crow sharply blazed through his repertoire of metal-inspired surf rock.

Over the course of the evening, Crow played most of the songs off of his new album, while splicing in older material.  The second track was the buzzing "Helicopter" off of My Room Is a Mess.  Some of the standout live tracks off Living Well were "Bam Bam", "I Hate You, Rob Crow", and "If Wade Would Call".  Their "Medley" consisted of three songs off of Crow's original demo tape that he "sold for two months' rent".  They were quick and actually pretty good.

Crow was putting everything had into each song.  At one point he exclaimed "I'm trying to give myself a brain aneurysm."  He used four pedals to expand his plucky jam guitar sound and even through a few headbangs.  The show wrapped up in a fury of "Some Secret History", off his Unreleased Tape Box Set Tracks and "Over the Summer" from My Room...

After their set wrapped up, Crow was coaxed back out for two more solo songs, which he described as a welcome opportunity.  All in all, a solid night, and a great view into the musical world of one of indie rock's most prolific artists.
