Über-indie & totally green Cloud Cult’s eighth album is yet another wildly expressive blend of organic, psych-, and art-rock.   The band perhaps most famous for its extreme commitment to environmental friendliness displays a wonderful array of their emotional, transcendental vibe on Feel Good Ghosts (Tea-Partying Through Tornadoes) in thirteen highly creative, and occasionally, touching tracks.

With a flare for mysticism, Cloud Cult explores both the natural and supernatural through a emotionally-charge, and extremely well-produced soundtrack.  From the inspired opening piano riff of “No One Said It Would Be Easy” to the soft, acoustic finish of “Love You All’, singer Craig Minowa packs as much passion into his songs as anyone around.   “The Tornado Lessons” has a dark, crushing flow while sound effects swirl and Minowa shouts within the chaos.

Feel Good Ghosts (Tea-Partying Through Tornadoes) shines as a melting pot of acoustic bristling, metallic rumblings, spiritual revivals, and more.  “Journey Of The Featherless” and “The Ghost Inside Our House” employ orchestral instruments beautifully while “Hurricane And Fire Survival Guide” is a quick-paced, flickering gem with Minowa’s memorable vocal delivery.  The rapid-fire clanging mixed with strings, synths, and piano on “May Your Hearts Stay Strong” is mesmerizing while the thumping harmonies on “Everybody Here Is A Cloud” is uplifting.

While their last few albums have given the band an increasingly significant amount of exposure, they’ve gained recognition for their unique live performances and green agenda.   Feel Good Ghosts (Tea-Partying Through Tornadoes) only propels that free-thinking trend as it’s another rich, imaginative collection of modern, outside-the-box tracks in their catalog.
