Another sweet classic from New York’s Beat Radio: the hard times go, part 1 album. Since this is part 1, I’m supposing there will be a part 2. Perhaps 3? Maybe a fantastic trilogy of hard times, getting harder & harder with each outing until the final showdown with some big villain that is the hardest of all.

I dig the Coney Island indie feel of it all. Sandy shores with a few beer bottles littered between the clumps of seaweed. Something urban, big tall city buildings. Something natural and wild too. A little smoky poetry to leaven the twang of electric guitars, synth keyboards, and snare drums. I dig Beat Radio. Listening to Beat Radio feels like a day off work mixed with a good long walk around sunset. To be honest, the hard times don’t feel so hard.
