A warm, but still brooding indie is out in Coma Girls new single, “Crown”, for EP Smoking Gun B/W Crown. It is all very intricate electronic jangle pop here, but all very familiar here too, with a melody sounding much like Pavement meets Ariel Pink, whom are both very common influences today.
The guitar is solid and dark, and the rhythm is as catchy as anything out there, but what makes it stand out is not these things, because as mentioned it is oh so familiar. The hook here is the charming vibe everything creates together starting with the title,
“Crown” to the ambience which actually challenges Ariel’s own in the guitar.
The L.A. type thoughts and synthy jangely alternative make for an impressive song and good start at catching the attention of an indie scene still tuned into these type of artists.
