Radar Eyes, one of my favorite acts around Chicago, has a s/t debut LP coming out at the beginning of February on HoZac Records. The band has ascended through the ranks & jumped all the regular hurdles: regular gigging at one-offs & fests, a cassette release on Plus Tapes, a well-received 7". So a debut album feels right, good timing and well-earned.

When I’ve caught the Radar Eyes live show, it seemed like a cross between short form Ramones-type punk confections and longer form psych jamming. The band can dig deep into the psych guitar territory or stay light as air with the 4/4 pop progressions. The new album seems to break out into entirely new territory beyond that dichotomy. Early listens point to some gazey influences, so stream below and judge for yourself.

Hit em up on Facebook & Tweeeeter & Soundcloud & head over to Hozac Records to pick up the s/t LP on vinyl.
