As much as I hate to give faceless social media corporations a shout out, got to thank Twitter for the good luck of running into Rival Tribes. The Ithaca-based band just sort of popped up in the feed, sparked my interest, and linked me all the way to their Bandcamp page. What I heard there, off their new self-titled EP, was an awesome mix of punky, wheezy, surfy, garage-y rock n roll instrumentals that fit like a glove into a mix I was making at the time, including the likes of Girlfriends, Thick Shakes, and Christians & Lions. So thank you Twitter! (oh, by the way, searched for the band on Myspace and found nada– so eff them!)
