The Droves push the you-can’t-always-get-what-you-want envelope pretty hard on "Plexi and Tandem" until about 90 seconds into the song when the snares start firing, an organ lights up, and the chorus kicks in, lifting the song beyond the boundaries of mere Rolling Stones rehash. Some bands might take offense at being so closely compared to the bad boys from Britain, but hey, go with what you got. The Brooklyn-based band dips their nib into the inkfount of a slew of indie and mainstream rock greats, and that can’t be a bad thing, right?

The track comes off the full-length album Out Of Herself that serves up soft-edged, sweet-toned pop lullabies in the slightly-slanted Americana tradition of Pavement (see "Sheila") with the occasional Pixies-ish paroxysm of violence. Enjoy!
