We’ve all lost so much in recent times, thank god we still have Yo La Tengo. Every music critic’s favorite act (and the first live show this critic ever went to, back at the late hometown venue Maxwell’s – QRO venue review), Georgia Hubley, Ira Kaplan, and James McNew have been making amazing music longer than most millennials have been alive. On October 9th, they release Sleepless Night EP. Originally side one of an LP included within a limited-edition catalogue for the LACMA exhibition, Yoshitomo Nara, a retrospective for the Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara, it’s now coming out as its own EP, and today Yo La Tengo release the record’s only original composition, the of-course-it’s-beautiful “Bleeding”.
