Long title on this track, right? So you’re probably not going to remember the name, but you’ll remember the sound of this song by Chicago’s Names Divine. Seasick psych lilt smitten with dreamy moon-visions and a powerful, acerbic female lead vocal that cuts the melody out of the air like a blade digging into the inside of your forearm. Sweet though, a gentle howl. The pace is perfectly askew a la One Foot In The Grave-era Beck,"Hollow Log"-esque, "first time you got stoned"-esque, "transcendent"-esque, "esque"-esque.

Dig on the rest of the full-length Something Vague and Maybe Rotting at Bandcamp. Names Divine has more members than you can shake a stick at, so expect anything on the album, and find out more at their site. Tour dates are coming up and a little bird told me that they have a Chicago date, so keep your ears to the ground. Enjoy!

Stream "The Golden Phallus, His Holy Waifs, and the Coming of the Eucharist"

Oh crap! I can’t get the above stream to work (something to do with the length of the file name?) so stream "Goodbye Sadness"
