Electric Six : Bride of the DevilElectric Six have always been a prolific, ‘throw everything against the wall and see what sticks’ kind of band, usually putting out a record a year, a much higher clip than most acts that aren’t Guided by Voices (who E6 even name-checked as one of the few good things about Ohio in “Escape From Ohio”). Each album seems to be as much another reason for them to hit the road, but a good reason, with their fourteenth, Bride of the Devil.

Electric Six have also long trafficked in mock-horror, but up that on their record-after-lucky-thirteen, from the title on. “Bride of the Devil” is big E6 rock-horror, which also comes out on such pieces as the preceding “Hades Ladies” and subsequent “Witches Burning”. But the most memorable song has to be “Daddy’s Boy”, mocking Trump as only singer Dick Valentine (QRO interview) can.

Leaning a little more to the rock and away from their disco (though “Grey Areas” is an E6 hepstepper), Bride of the Devil is another good reason to go see Electric Six.
