Purling Hiss : WeirdonPurling Hiss, a grungy, groove band, have had several albums, with a unique sound, bringing the vintage rock feel, and rocking out with an unmatched energy. Weirdon starts out strong with “Fortress of Solitude”. The first four songs are wrecking balls in terms of rock credibility. ”Sundance Saloon Boogie” says, “No more lies,” and means it, “It’s the end of the story,” over a high-pitched garage solo.

“Learning Slowly” kicks back, and says, ‘Look people I’m doing the best I can.’ “Another Silvermoon” has rhythms that jam, they just jam. “Where’s Sweetboy?” is ok, loud, raw, and full of energy.

“Airwaves” is also good. It has a little more jangle, and simple punk joy. “Running Through My Dreams” is pretty good slow rock. The last song, “Six Ways to Sunday”, twangs it’s way into euphoric noise. The other songs are alright.

The imperial fuzz is here. Weirdon continues in the vein of their last few albums. Purling Hiss is niche, but it’s niche awesome.
