#RIP Bhimsen Joshi

I’m not going to pretend to know a lot about the Hindustani classical tradition (check the Wiki here) but I do know that Bhimsen Joshi was one of luminary vocalists of the genre in the latter half of the 20th century, and into the new millenium. Music is about discovery, so check this bro out, and pour some out for your homie: Bhimsen Joshi (1922-2011), your dedication and otherworldy vocal control will not be forgotten soon. RIP.

Some of the tracks I was sorting through ran 30 minutes long. It’s hard to put a play time on devotional tracks. I went with a shorter one for the MMM-MMMP3 post, but to get the real feel dig deeper into the long plays. Let the sitar drone do its work.
