2022 also marks Keen’s fourth appearance at an Austin City Limits taping, with his first headlining performance in 1989, followed by a guest performance with fellow-Texan Lyle Lovett in 2000 as well as a performance at the 40th Anniversary special of Austin City Limits in 2014. Keen has even hosted the ACL Hall of Fame in 2019.

Pulling music from 21 albums, Keen played hits such as“The Man Behind The Drums”, “I Got To Go” and forever-tour anthem “The Road Goes On Forever”. Keen thanked his fans for their many decades of support were treated to his final swan song, “I’m Coming Home” and an off-season encore of “Merry Christmas From the Family / Feliz Navidad”. Keen’s mark on Americana will forever be immortalized with this special Season 48 taping of one of the greatest songwriters to come out of Texas.
