On Superdrag’s reunion tour, the original lineup rocked Boston’s Paradise Club as fiercely as they ever could.  Playing an extended set that plucked gems from their entire discography, the four-piece put together a show of their most essential hits.  Revisiting the site of their last show in Boston before calling it quits, it felt like they never stopped.

Kicking off the set with "Whitey’s Theme", the group immediately engaged the crowd in a good ol’ party atmosphere and didn’t let the intensity slip throughout the show.  Playing about 25 songs, they might have run out of energy, but actually the opposite.  They rocked out on "Phaser", "Sold You An Alibi", and "True Believer" while squeezing in tight and ebbs and flows all along.  Singer John Davis played the piano on a few tracks as well for a perfect mix.

The band blew through "Keep It Close To Me", "Sucked Out" and "Cynicality" on a mission at the end of their set before coming out to vigorous applause for the encore.  Then they blasted out four tracks, including "Bloody Hell" and "Rocket", and left the crowd panting by the end.

It was about as successful as a reunion show could go, especially as former member Mic Harrison (whose band was supporting) shouted and pumped his fist from the stage during Superdrag’s set.  It seems their dense fanbase is wholeheartedly glad to have them back, no matter what.
