The Black Crowes continued their North American “Shake Your Money Maker” tour with the start of the Summer leg of shows at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida on Thursday, June 9th. The long-delayed tour is a celebration of the band’s epic debut Shake Your Money Maker album.
A capacity crowd was on hand to see the Atlanta act roll through the album, plus all the hits. Along with Chris and Rich Robinson, the group was made up of Sven Pipien on bass; Isaiah Mitchell on the guitar; Brian Griffin on the drums; Joel Robinow handling the keys, with backing vocals by Mackenzie Adams and Leslie Grant.
The Robinson brothers were a point-counterpoint presence on stage with showman Chris spinning and gyrating all over the stage while in contrast Rich strolled a few steps in either direction or occasionally back to the drum riser.
The evening consisted of SYMM in its ten-song entirety, plus several other hits and covers including Otis Redding’s “Hard To Handle”. The evening was high energy except for a darkened stage at the beginning of “She Talks To Angels”, with only Chris in a single spotlight.
With the final leg of the tour underway fans across North America have a great evening of Black Crowes to look forward to.
