Early Toro Y Moi and early Neon Indian — that’s what I hear from Virginia’s Underwater Seacreatures. Definitely chillwave, homie. You got a problem with that? You giving me an awkward eye? You wanna fucking go, homie?! I’ll fucking take you downtown to Chinatown!

Or do you want me to dress up their new EP in post-chillwave descriptors so that you feel OK digging on it after Bitchspork gave a lukewarm score to Neon Indian’s new album? Not going to do it. This album lives and dies by the chillthump. Works for me. The vibes are a little more house, sometimes a little more electro Krautwave (the Neon Indian cover has a Kraftwerk flavor), all in all, more clean trance sensation than your average glo-fi. Wrap it up into one package and you’ve got a pretty solid self-titled EP.

Hunt em down at Facebook & stream the rest of the EP at Bandcamp & visit their Tumblr & have a nice day!
