When MMM-MMMP3s gets excited about an EP, we have the tendency to stream the entire tracklist, even though one could just as well head to Bandcamp and stream it there. Do whatever you like, but make sure you listen to the self-titled debut effort from White Birds, the white phoenix rising from the ashes of the recently split Drink Up Buttercup.

Who knows why Drink Up Buttercup split? It’s a shame — DUB’s Born and Thrown on a Hook was a really special album, but good things aren’t meant to last, I suppose.

Luckily White Birds brings back some of the skewed pop perfectionism that was so admirable about DUB. The self-titled debut, released as a tape by Grizzly Records, is a lovingly assembled collection of Garfunkel outtakes, fed through the meat grinder of Sentridoh’s Losing Losers.

Stream below, or stream at Bandcamp & say hi on Facebook and Twitter and their own site & buy the tape (limited to 100 copies) at Grizzly Records. Enjoy!
