Yumi Zouma : Truth or ConsequencesYumi Zouma emerged out of the tragic Christchurch Earthquake in New Zealand, but are something oh so bright. Track after track on Truth or Consequences shines like the sunniest dance party, something we all need right about now (or on any day).

At their most upbeat, Yumi Zouma resemble the sweet synths & songstresses of Brooklyn’s Au Revoir Simone on pieces such as “Lonely After” and “Cool For a Second”. Truth also is a dance party, a lovely one on “Right Track / Wrong Man” and uplifting closer “Lie Like You Want Me Back”. There are chiller moments, more like The xx with “Sage” or “Magazine Bay”, but this is an album for a nightclub well light by disco ball.

Coming out during our current corona virus crisis, you unfortunately can’t currently enjoy Yumi Zouma in da club, but it’s a wonderful soundtrack for your self-isolating dance party.
