The California-based label MJ MJ Records (Two Michael Jordans — as if you needed more than one?) is kicking out another volume of the serious sauce: Serious Sauce Vol. 2, starring the irreproachable electronic artistry of Slyy, conqueror of worlds and friend to the Earth.

The beat tape clocks in at around 46 minutes, and sources tell me it’s best when listened to straight through as a solid mix instead of a collection of tracks, singles, or one-offs. Slyy has a kind of Aphex Twin Jr. vibe here, tripped out with the post-chillwave nods and 21 dub salutes. It’s music for making love to mannequins. Oooooh, baby!

As a side note, this post grew out of a quasi-epic email exchange between myself and a head at MJ MJ Records. A lot of talking back & forth to nail down details about the release, only to forget other details in the flurry of all the correspondence. Does MJ MJ Records suck at PR emails? Or have I just been too tired lately to pay attention to shit? It’s probably a combination of both. The moral to the story: make everything as dumbed down & easy as possible, because the people that are reading your communiques may actually be dumb, or at least tired from their dayjob.

Grab the limited run tape at MJ MJ Records (which doesn’t actually sell records per se) & stream more at the Slyy Bandcamp & download a few tracks at the Serious Sauce Vol. 2 Bandcamp & have a seriously awesome day!
